What are Prepositions
Prepositions are those words, which show the relationship of Nouns (or Pronouns) with the other words in the sentence. Prepositions are used before Nouns (or Pronouns) in the sentence.
Down
Down is used to refer to the movement of something from a upper level to the lower level.
Examples:
When I looked down from the roof of the building, the people looked very small.
The lift is going down to the ground floor.
The sun is going down, it’s about to set.
Never let yourself down, whatever the situation is.
Put your guns down.
The inflation rate has gone down by 2 % in the last one month.
Put the books down on the table.
We went down the hill to visit the lake.
