What are Nouns

Noun is the part of speech, which names a Person, Place or a Thing. It means the words, which are used to tell the name of a Person, Place or Thing are called Nouns.

Material Nouns

Material Nouns refer to the names of things whose quantities can be measured in physical terms. In other words, Materials Nouns refer to the names of raw elements or objects existing in the nature. They cannot be created by man, but many things, are created by using these materials.

Following are some examples of the Material Nouns:

Gold, Silver, Iron, Copper, Coal, Water, Air, Sand, Rock, Milk, Wool, Honey, Leather, Tea, Coffee, Wood, Rubber etc.
