What are Adverbs

A word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree etc. is called Adverb.

So adverbs tell the qualities of verbs, adjectives or other adverbs in relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause and degree etc.

Adverbs of Number

The Adverbs which tell the qualities of a verb, adjective or other adverb in relation of number are called the Adverbs of Number.

Following are some adverbs and their examples:

Once, Twice, Thrice, Always, Often, Seldom, Again etc.

Examples:

We get to live this life once.
The Batsman hit the ball twice.
The child fell down thrice.
He always comes late.
I often go to play cricket.
Barking dogs seldom bite.
Geeta did the same mistake again.
